POSITION TITLE: Retail & Design Associate
TYPE: Part Time/Shop Hourly (20-30 hours per week)
CAREER PATH: Shop Manager, Creative Director
Our ideal member of the team shares a love of stationery, gifts, and design with an attention to detail. The Retail and Design Associate role consists of providing impeccable customer service, is a brand ambassador and a positive force for The Social Type. To be considered ‘The Social Type’ you will absolutely love providing excellent customer service and driving sales in the retail environment. The Design component will showcase your creative abilities by designing innovative and thoughtful materials and products that elevate The Social Type brand. The position will be 80% retail 20% design with the primary workload being in the store and working with customers. The Social Type is a growing company with both a wholesale and retail opportunity for the right candidate.

  • Proficiency on Mac, Illustrator, Photoshop, In-Design
  • Understanding of high end retail, stationery, and gift trends
  • Self directed and willing to work on design projects with varying degree of direction
  • Willing to work from home
  • Meets deadlines and product release schedules
  • Understanding of digital and print medium
  • Maintain accurate tracking and communication of projects
  • Interested in increasing size and scope of design elements of this position
  • Well organized and can manage digital files with minimal direction
  • Minimum three years retail
  • 3-5 years graphic design or equivalent degree
  • Work in a high standards, professional environment
  • Minimum two years Point of Sale and cash handling
  • Opening and closing retail store
  • Availability on weekends and for special events
  • Must be able to lift and carry items of 20 lbs 
  • Must be able to stand and be on feet for long periods at a time
